How it works
01
We come out, look at the tile, and give you a written estimate — no charge, no obligation. We check for the underlying cause (usually a leak) so the new tile doesn't fail the same way.
02
We remove damaged or failing tiles without harming the surrounding surface. For full waterline replacement, we lower the water level below the work area — no full drain needed.
03
We clean the substrate, repair any concrete damage, and apply a waterproof membrane where needed so the new tile has a sound, leak-free base to bond to.
04
Premium thinset and setting materials, precise placement, and matched grout color. We work to keep the lines straight and the joints consistent around the entire pool.
05
Grout is applied, cured, and sealed. We do a quality inspection, walk you through care instructions, and provide a written warranty on the work.
More than new tile
Water gets behind the tile, breaks the bond, and the tile pops off. Replace just the tile and the same thing happens again in a season. We've seen it on pools where the previous contractor only replaced what was visible and never addressed the underlying cause.
At the free inspection we look for the leak source, the substrate condition, and the bond integrity. If a leak is the cause, leak detection is quoted separately based on scope and we handle the detection and the repair before new tile goes on — so the new tile actually lasts.
One crew, one project, one warranty. No subcontracting the leak to someone else. We handle the whole job.
We check for leaks, substrate damage, and bond failure before replacing anything.
We source the closest match possible, or pull samples from the same manufacturer and dye lot.
Premium thinset, waterproof membrane where needed, and proper grout sealing.
Is it time?
If you notice two or more of these, call us for a free assessment.
Cracked or broken tiles — impact damage, settling, or age
Missing tiles — water getting behind causes them to pop off
Stained or discolored tiles — calcium, mineral, or chemical damage
Hollow-sounding tiles — adhesive has failed, tiles are loose
Cracked or missing grout — water penetrating the joints
Water loss near the waterline — likely a leak behind the tile
Coping tiles lifting or shifting — deck movement or freeze damage
Faded or chalky tile glaze — UV and chemical wear over time
Water loss plus missing tiles almost always means a leak behind the surface. Call us first.
Don't wait — water damage behind the tile only gets worse. We'll come out, look at the damage, and give you a free written estimate with no obligation.

Common questions
A few tiles with minor cracks or a single missing piece usually only need spot repair. Widespread cracking, multiple missing tiles, hollow sounds when you tap the tile, or water loss near the waterline all point to replacement. We assess the underlying cause at the free inspection and tell you honestly which route is right.
Yes, in many cases. If the damage is limited to 1–5 tiles and the rest of the waterline is sound, we can do a targeted repair. Keep in mind that color may vary slightly between new and existing tile if the originals are 10+ years old. We source the closest match possible.
Waterline tile is the decorative band at the water's surface — typically 6" tall, around the entire perimeter. Coping tile (or coping stone) is the cap on the pool edge, where the deck meets the pool wall. They serve different functions: waterline tile is aesthetic and seals the plaster edge, coping is structural and defines the pool's edge.
Regrouting makes sense when the tile itself is in good shape but the grout has failed (crumbling, missing, stained). Replacement is the right call when tiles are cracked, missing, hollow, or when you want a fresh look. We can regrout and seal in one visit, or do a full replacement — your call based on what we find.
Minor spot repairs (1–5 tiles) typically run a few hundred dollars. Full waterline replacement is usually $1,500–$4,000 depending on pool size, tile choice, and surface condition. We provide a free written estimate after the inspection so you know the exact number before committing.
Minor repairs can be done in a single visit (often the same day). Full waterline replacement typically takes 2–4 days depending on pool size, tile type, and curing time. We give you a precise timeline at the free estimate so you can plan around it.
For waterline tile work, no — we lower the water level just below the repair area and work on the exposed band. Full drain is only needed for complete resurfacing combined with tile replacement, or for niche work that requires direct access below the waterline.
The most common cause is water getting behind the tile — which usually means there's a leak. Other causes include concrete movement behind the tile, adhesive failure from age and heat, or poor original installation. We identify the cause during the inspection so the new tile doesn't fail the same way. If a leak is found, leak detection is quoted separately based on scope.
