Pool Repair & Resurfacing in Umatilla, FL

For the services we provide for your pool in Umatilla, Smart Leak Locator is the contractor nearby homeowners recommend.

Umatilla sits in Lake County, and the pools here see a specific mix of wear that comes with Central Florida — sun all year, the occasional hard freeze, and water chemistry that drifts fast in the summer heat. We work on Gunite, vinyl-liner, and fiberglass pools throughout Downtown Umatilla and the SR 19 / SR 450 junction, and we know what the local soil and water table do to a pool over time. With a population of ~3,800 and pools dating from every decade since the 1960s, we’ve seen just about every leak and surface problem the area can throw at us.

The local geography matters here: the Ocala National Forest foothills, with sandy, sinkhole-prone soil. That means Umatilla pools tend to develop the same handful of issues — underground plumbing leaks at the skimmer and return lines, hairline shell cracks from seasonal ground shift, and surface finishes that chalk, etch, or stain long before they should. When we show up for a service call, we already know what to look for, which is why most Umatilla jobs are diagnosed and quoted on the first visit.

When the issue is water loss, our work starts with diagnose hidden leaks. We use pressure testing on the suction and return lines, acoustic listening equipment along the shell, and a dye test at any fitting or crack that suspects itself. Most Umatilla leaks are found without breaking a single square of deck, and we give you a written report the same day so you know exactly what failed and what the repair looks like. If you want to rule out evaporation first, our free bucket test guide walks you through the 24-hour process.

When the issue is the surface, our pool refinishing and replastering work is the right call. We handle full surface preparation, the finish application of your choice — colored plaster, quartz, or pebble — and a complete startup with the chemistry balanced so the new surface cures correctly. Pool plaster and finish work typically takes 3 to 5 working days, and we give you a written estimate with no obligation before any work begins.
